Cosmetic Acupuncture is also known as Facial Acupuncture or Facial Rejuvenation. It is a safe, gentle and natural anti-aging treatment to enhance beauty and wellbeing. Facial acupuncture will also address your health and the whole body, bring your body back to harmony.
We use very fine needles which are made especially to be used for the face. These needles are inserted on different areas of the face to stimulate to produce collagen and elastin. This can soften lines and wrinkles, lift sagging, increase firmness and tone in the face and bring to your face circulation for the bright, even and glowing skin.

Is there anything else we need to be cautious about?
Cosmetic Acupuncture should be used with precaution if the patient:
- Is pregnant - may cause Yang qi uprise to the face, taking away from foetus
- Suffers migraine/severe headaches
- Suffering from a cold sore or herpes on face
- Is on blood thinners and IBC's. This can increase the risk of bruising
- Has had laser or a peel recently, skin may be sensitive
- Has broken and weeping skin (dermatitis, eczema)
- when patient is on their menstrual period
Are there any side effects and downtime?
Cosmetic acupuncture is gentle and safe. There is no downtime associated with facial acupuncture, that means you do not need to worry how it may affect your day after the treatments.
We do recommend to be gentle with your body and rest after each session as the effect of acupuncture does still continue to work even after the needles have been taken out.
The most likely effects post-treatment include flushing of the face redness. This is very normal and related to the increased circulation of blood to the face. Occasionally minor and temporary bruising may occur at the site of needle insertion. This is usually painless and resolves itself after a couple of days. If this happens, advise the use of arnica tablets and arnica or Hirudoid cream.
Skin care products and make up can be worn straight after the treatment.
